ABOUT THE WORKAnchored in an artistic study of Sheree Rose and Bob Flanagan collections at the ONE archives at the USC libraries, Ibarra created a series of sculptures that combine the aesthetics of hardware catalogues and pornography magazines. These pierced genital silicone sculptures clamped onto various colorful vices draw inspiration from the golden decade of modern piercing and S&M communities on the West Coast in the 1990s.
